Chris Ferguson

Chris "Jesus" Ferguson

One of the most prominent and recognized poker players around is Chris Ferguson, and he is not denying it at all. Known to many of his fellow poker players and fans as an unstoppable force in the gaming arena, he has made his mark in poker apparent to thousands of people the world over. But, just as with most any other famous player - it was always an easy path to get there. Chris Ferguson was born in Los Angeles on the day of April 11, 1963.

As a boy he played poker and decided to really get serious with it in 1994, when he began to start doing tournaments and bigger events to get things going. He received his education at UCLA in computer science. From the time that he was born, he came from a background that was very strong in mathematics and theoretical ideas. Chris has shown to be an excellent player, not only in skill, but in observation, as well as attitude. From taking much needed information from other players in the game, to extracted money and building bank roll with ease - he is the player to look out for.

Throughout his career, there has been many twists and turns that would eventually lead up to a great career in poker that one would be proud of to even achieve even a fraction of. In 1995, Ferguson went into his very first World Series of Poker competition. Known to opponents and his fans as "Jesus" due to his flowing hair and facial beard with an underlying somber facade, Ferguson has been known to wipe out many poker players of all different levels of skill and game. In the year of 2000, he took home the big prize of over one million dollars after he defeated Thomas Cloutier in another World Series of Poker.

To his financial portfolio, he banks in at more than seven million dollars, which is not bad at all in the books of most pro players. Considering all of his accomplishments, it would be enough to make anyone want to go pro and play professionally to try and reach the ranks that he has made standard for the game of poker. He also helped to open up on of the most popular online sites that are out there, Full Tilt Poker - which thousands of people have since made their place of choice to battle within the poker arena from the ease and comfort of their homes. Among many of the professional poker players out there, I can recall seeing him quite frequently on television and in large gaming events that literally thousands of people choose to flock to each and every year to see the poker greats hone their skills.

More recently in 2008, he has battled and defeated Andy Bloch and as a result made it to finals for hard work and dedication to bettering his game. With Chris, playing the game to win is the only way to go, no looking back. Since starting a poker career, he has won five WSOP bracelets and has collected many prizes while upholding his status as a super poker player to be aware of.
